The M3 westbound has been closed following a serious multi-vehicle collision involving four vehicles. Emergency services were called to the scene just after 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, with the incident taking place between Junction 2 and Junction 3 near Bagshot.
Seven people are believed to be involved in the crash, with one person currently trapped inside one of the vehicles. Fire crews from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service stations in Camberley, Chertsey, and Staines have been mobilized to the scene. Firefighters are working to free the trapped individual, though the extent of their injuries remains unclear at this time.
Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service have also been dispatched to provide medical assistance to those involved in the collision. The condition of the other individuals is not yet known.
Surrey Police have confirmed that the westbound carriageway of the M3 will remain closed for an extended period while investigations into the cause of the crash are carried out and the vehicles are recovered.
