Blaze Destroys Popular Kebab Shop

A devastating fire ripped through Dubai Shawarma on Seven Sisters Road, Holloway in the early hours of Thursday, November 28. The blaze gutted the kebab joint leaving it in ruins and sent five people to hospital with smoke inhalation.

Massive Emergency Response

The fire was first reported at 3:45 a.m., triggering a massive response from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) and Metropolitan Police. Over 100 firefighters battled the inferno, finally bringing it under control by 7:55 a.m.

Thankfully, none of the injured suffered serious harm, but the scene was described as chaotic as emergency crews worked through the night.

Two Arrested in Arson Investigation

The Met confirmed that two men have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. Both remain in custody as police continue their probes.

“Police were called at 3:50 a.m. to a fire on Seven Sisters Road. Officers arrived alongside the Fire Brigade. Several people were hospitalised with no serious injuries. Two men were arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and remain in custody,” a spokesperson said.

“The cause of the fire remains under investigation.”

Community Left Stunned

Locals and nearby businesses expressed shock and sadness at the destruction of a well-loved eatery. One resident said:

“It’s terrifying to think something like this could happen so close to home. That shop was a popular spot, and now it’s completely gone.”

The Metropolitan Police and London Fire Brigade have urged anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
