Three Charged Over Easterton Murder After Fatal Stabbing

Three people have appeared in court charged with the shocking murder of a man in Easterton, near Devizes, following a fatal stabbing last summer.

Victim Named as Raymond Groves, 48

Helen Shakespeare, 53, and Letishia Goodwin, 30 — both from Strawberry Fields — along with Anthony Hodges-Hillier, 33, of Brooklands, Royal Wootton Bassett, stand accused of killing 48-year-old Raymond Groves from Hartcliffe, Bristol.

Deadly Stabbing on July 2, 2024

The harrowing attack happened on July 2, 2024. Police rushed to Strawberry Fields shortly after 8pm following reports of a stabbing. Despite emergency services’ desperate attempts to save him, Mr Groves was pronounced dead at the scene.

Trial Begins at Salisbury Crown Court

The case was heard this week at Salisbury Crown Court, with the trial officially kicking off on Tuesday, March 11. It is expected to last around six weeks as the court digs into the fatal assault.
