Tragedy in Plymouth: Stephen Hawnton, 63, has died after a fatal crash on North Prospect Road. His family has paid an emotional tribute, calling him “kind, caring and genuine.”
Family Pays Heartbreaking Tribute
Stephen was pronounced dead at the scene on Friday, 11 April. In a moving statement released via police, his family said:
“We are heartbroken and in utter shock at Steve’s passing. He was the kindest, most genuine man you could ever meet – the best son, husband, dad and grandad. Everyone who knew him will miss him terribly.”
“Our thanks go to the emergency services and local residents for their support that day – we will always be grateful. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Until we meet again – all our love, forever and always xx.”
Crash Details and Police Inquiry
Emergency crews rushed to North Prospect Road on Friday afternoon after the collision. Despite their best efforts, Stephen was declared dead at the scene. The road was shut for hours as police investigated.
Police confirm enquiries are ongoing but the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
