Teen Rushed to Major Trauma Centre After Broad-Daylight Knife Attack in John Wilson Street – UKNIP

Emergency services descended on John Wilson Street in Woolwich after a stabbing left a male victim seriously injured on Sunday evening.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed that they were called to the scene shortly after 5:30pm on 11 May following reports of a knife attack on the busy southeast London road.

A LAS spokesperson said:
“We were called at 5.33pm yesterday (11 May) to reports of a stabbing in John Wilson Street, Woolwich.
We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and members of our tactical response unit to the scene.
We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road as a priority.”

Road Transport Chosen Over Helicopter Due to Urban Conditions

Despite the presence of London’s Air Ambulance, the patient was taken by road to a major trauma unit. His condition has not been confirmed but he was prioritised for urgent care, highlighting the severity of his injuries.

Investigation Underway

At this stage, no arrests have been confirmed. The Metropolitan Police are expected to release further updates as the investigation develops. The incident adds to a growing number of knife-related assaults across London this spring.

Local Response and Reactions

John Wilson Street was partially cordoned off, with heavy police presence and forensics on-site late into the evening. Community leaders in Woolwich and Greenwich boroughs have expressed concern over youth violence and are urging witnesses to come forward.
