A car smashed into the Pilot Inn pub, near the power station, shortly after midnight last night, causing significant damage to the building.
Police say the driver allegedly fled the scene but was arrested a short time later. Details of any potential injuries have not yet been confirmed.
Despite the extensive damage, the historic pub reopened to customers today, with staff working quickly to make the premises safe.
Footage taken at the scene shows debris scattered around the entrance following the collision.
