Multiple US sources have fingered Tyler Robinson, 22, as the man arrested over the shocking murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Utah authorities are yet to officially confirm the suspect’s identity.

How It Went Down: The Shooting at Utah University

Charlie Kirk, 31, was gunned down during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Police revealed the shooter fired a single bullet from a rooftop roughly 200 yards away from the crowd before vanishing.

The murder weapon, a high-powered bolt-action rifle, has been recovered. Authorities also released footage of a person of interest wearing a black long-sleeve shirt with a bald eagle over a US flag, plus a cap and sunglasses.

Arrest Made After Intense Manhunt

Donald Trump confirmed on Friday morning that a suspect was in custody “with a high degree of certainty” during an appearance on Fox & Friends. The former president said someone close to the suspect tipped off investigators but didn’t reveal the name.

Following a frantic two-day manhunt involving federal and state agencies and thousands of tips, national media identified the suspect as Tyler Robinson. Police plan to release more details soon.

The murder weapon and physical evidence, including fingerprints, are being analysed. The FBI is dangling a $100,000 reward for tips that lead to more arrests or information.
