Disaster struck at 1:30pm yesterday (27 September) on Lowbourne, Melksham. A white Ford Transit van reversed into two women in their 70s. Both were rushed to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
Driver Arrested Over Shocking Smash
A 25-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug-driving. He’s now released on bail while the police continue their investigation and analyse evidence.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
“This was a serious incident which has resulted in two elderly women suffering potentially life-threatening injuries,” said Sergeant James Twyford of the Roads Policing Unit. “We’ve spoken to several witnesses and thank the public for their support.
