Police Horse Attacked by Loose Dog in Tower Hamlets Park

Chaos as Dog Bites Horse’s Legs

Shocking footage shows a man desperately wielding a large stick, trying to fend off a vicious dog attacking a mounted police horse. As officers shout, “Get hold of the dog!” the animal relentlessly bites the horse’s legs, causing it to buckle and collapse to the ground.

Panic in Victoria Park

The nasty attack unfolded on March 22 in Tower Hamlets’ Victoria Park, drawing a crowd of horrified onlookers. Voices can be heard in the video exclaiming, “This is so bad!” while frustrated officers stand helplessly by.

One witness shouts, “Who’s dog is that? Grab it now!” as the dog continues its aggressive assault.

Horse Injured but Expected to Recover

After several tense minutes, an officer dismounts to check the injured horse, urging, “Get that dog on a lead now!” The horse needed stitches but is expected to make a full recovery.

“He will hopefully be back on duty as soon as he has fully recovered, but not sooner,” police confirmed.

Call for Responsible Dog Ownership

The police revealed the horse is named PH Urbane of Bow. They issued a stern reminder:

  • Keep your dog on a lead if it cannot be reliably controlled.
  • Loose dogs can cause serious harm.
  • Thanks to the public who tried to help the horse during the attack.

The dog remains in police kennels while officers contact its owner. No arrests have been made yet.
