Off-Duty Officer Killed in Head-On Collision

PC Alice Mayo, 29, tragically died after her blue Fiat 500 smashed into a white Land Rover Defender on the A534 Spark Lane near Moorhead Lane junction. The crash happened on Saturday, 7 February. Despite over six years with Cheshire Constabulary’s Macclesfield BEAT team, Alice was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family’s Heartbreaking Tribute to Beloved Officer

“Alice meant so much to so many. She was a daughter, a sister, an auntie, a niece, a dog-mum to Ned the Cocker Spaniel, and a friend to many,” said her family.

Police and Crime Commissioner Dan Price expressed his sorrow: “I am deeply saddened by Alice’s death. My thoughts are with her family, friends, and the policing community she was part of.”

Man Arrested Over Crash Released on Bail

A 77-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He’s now been released on conditional bail while police continue their inquiries.
