Car Theft Ends in Dramatic Crash at Worksop Pub
Police were on high alert after a vehicle was stolen from Thackeray’s Lane, Woodthorpe, just after 8pm on Monday, 27 March.
High-Speed Chase Through County
Officers quickly tracked the stolen car as it sped recklessly through the county, heading straight into Worksop.
Crash Into Lockside Pub
The chase took a dangerous turn when the driver failed to stop and smashed into the side of the Lockside pub in Victoria Square.
In a desperate bid to flee, the suspect jumped into the nearby canal—but police were swift to catch him.
Man Arrested on Multiple Charges
A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of motor vehicle theft, driving while disqualified, failing to stop, and driving dangerously.
He remains in custody as investigations continue.
Sergeant Clint Gloyn of Nottinghamshire Police said: “Thankfully no-one was injured during this incident.
“This manner of driving placed not only the people inside the pub at risk but also the driver, our officers, and the public.”
