Woman Dies After Hit-and-Run Collision in Pemberton
A tragic hit-and-run on Ormskirk Road, Pemberton, has claimed the life of a woman in her 40s. The fatal crash happened around 9.20pm when a silver Land Rover Freelander struck three pedestrians near a local pub.
Driver Flees Scene After Hitting Three Pedestrians
The Land Rover was heading towards Orrell Road when it hit the three pedestrians standing on the pavement. Emergency services rushed to the scene. The woman was taken to hospital but sadly later died. Two men suffered serious injuries.
Two Men Arrested as Police Investigate Deadly Crash
Police arrested two males on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Both remain in custody while inquiries continue. Officers have closed the road and urge drivers to use alternative routes.

“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family who are understandably devastated by the circumstances of how their loved one has lost their life,” said PC Oliver Batty from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
“We launched an immediate investigation and the road has been closed while we carry out enquiries. We want to hear from anyone with information or dash-cam footage that could help.”
