Tragic Crash on A5 in Great Wyrley: Woman Dies, Three Hurt
West Midlands Ambulance Service rushed to a serious collision on the A5 in Great Wyrley at 11.25pm last night. The smash happened between the Churchbridge roundabouts and the B4154 junction, prompting a huge emergency response.
Massive Emergency Response to Nighttime Crash
Three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor, a Critical Care Paramedic, and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care Car were all scrambled to the scene.
Woman Dies After Car Overturns
On arrival, crews found two vehicles involved, one of which had flipped over. A woman trapped inside the overturned car was in critical condition and being given life support by fire service crews.
Despite immediate advanced life support from ambulance staff, sadly, the woman was confirmed dead at the scene.
Three Others Injured, Hospitalised
- A man from the overturned car suffered injuries not believed to be serious and was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital.
- From the second car, a man with serious but non-life-threatening injuries was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, accompanied by a doctor en route.
- Another man from the same vehicle was taken to New Cross Hospital with minor injuries.
Emergency services continue to investigate this devastating crash.
