Sultan Road in Portsmouth is shut tight this afternoon after a man took a nasty fall from his bike. Police, paramedics, and even the air ambulance rushed to the scene in a dramatic emergency response.

Hampshire Police have cordoned off Sultan Road, blocking all access and turning residents away. Teams from South Central Ambulance Service and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance are on site, with the chopper having touched down nearby at a local play centre.
Man’s Injuries ‘Serious and Potentially Life-Threatening’
A local said the man was taken by land ambulance to meet the waiting air ambulance. South Central Ambulance confirmed, “They had sent a number of resources to an incident involving a man who’d fallen from his pushbike. The man’s injuries were thought to be serious and potentially life-threatening.”
Air Ambulance Flies Victim to Hospital
The Isle of Wight Air Ambulance airlifted the man to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. Authorities continue to keep Sultan Road closed as investigations and rescue efforts continue.
