Man Seriously Injured After Fall From Bike in Portsmouth
Emergency services have sealed off Sultan Road in Portsmouth following a serious incident this afternoon. Hampshire Police, South Central Ambulance Service, and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance are all on the scene.
Air Ambulance Touches Down at Play Centre
The air ambulance landed nearby at a local play centre as paramedics raced to assist. Two land ambulances and teams of paramedics are also treating the injured man on site.
Local Resident Reports Man Taken From Scene
One resident revealed a man fell from his bike and was rushed away by land ambulance before being transferred to the waiting air ambulance. Access to Sultan Road has been restricted and residents have been turned away while emergency crews work.
Serious Injuries and Hospital Transfer Confirmed
A South Central Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We responded to an incident involving a man who fell from his pushbike. His injuries are believed to be serious and potentially life-threatening.”
The spokesman confirmed the Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was deployed and that the man was airlifted to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital for urgent treatment.
