Motorcyclist Airlifted After Serious Wroxall Crash
Emergency services rushed to a crash between Ventnor and Wroxall this morning. A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a blue Hyundai on Newport Road, Upper Ventnor.
Crash Sparks Full Emergency Response
Firefighters, police, and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance were called just after 10am on Wednesday to the scene. Fire crews are working to make the area safe while armed roads policing officers have closed the road and launched an investigation.
Injured Rider Airlifted to Hospital
The man, believed to be in his 40s, suffered a suspected broken pelvis and arm injuries. He was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries.
Transport Disrupted as Buses Diverted
Southern Vectis confirmed buses are now diverting via Godshill, Whitwell, and Ventnor due to the road closure.
Hampshire Constabulary spokesman: “Officers were called at 9.49am to a collision involving a car and a motorbike on Newport Road. Male motorcyclist has been injured.”
