Young Man Stabbed to Death in New Addington Brawl

Police rushed to North Walk, New Addington just after 6pm on Tuesday, 12 September following reports of a violent fight. Two men were found nearby with stab wounds.

20-Year-Old Dies at Scene, Second Victim Hospitalised

Tragically, a 20-year-old man died at the scene. His family has been informed. A post-mortem will be scheduled in due course.

The second victim, aged 19, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Thankfully, his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Man Arrested Over Murder as Specialist Crime Team Investigates

A 20-year-old suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Officers from the Specialist Crime unit are leading the investigation.

Detective Inspector Jason Fitzpatrick said: “This fatal attack happened in daylight and I’m sure it would have been witnessed by a number of people. We are carrying out a number of enquiries, including a review of local CCTV. I would ask anyone with video doorbells or dash cams in the area to check their footage. It is vital we establish what happened yesterday evening and find those responsible.”

Police Appeal to Community for Help

Superintendent Mitch Carr spoke to the local community: “The area will share our shock at this tragic loss of a young life. You will see additional officers patrolling, and I urge anyone with information to come forward. Only by working together can we reduce violent crime.”
