Third Arrest Made in Lambeth Stabbing on Victim’s Birthday
Detectives have arrested a third suspect in the brutal stabbing murder of 20-year-old Salem Koudou from Lambeth — on what would have been his birthday.
An 18-year-old man was detained in Harlow, Essex, on Monday, 24 August, on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as the investigation intensifies.
Fierce Fight Leaves Young Man Dead, Another Injured
Salem was found with fatal stab wounds on Wynne Road, SW9, after police were called at 5.55pm on Thursday, 20 August, following reports of a fight near Overton Road. Despite rushed hospital treatment, he died at 8.53pm.
A 26-year-old man was also stabbed during the incident. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was initially arrested over conspiracy to murder but has since been released.
Car Crash Linked to Murder Scene
Nearby Marcella Road saw an overturned car believed to be connected to the stabbing. Witnesses report a possible collision before the car flipped, though no one was seriously hurt in the crash.
Police Plea for Witnesses and Footage
A 19-year-old man remains on bail for murder and grievous bodily harm, as the Met’s Specialist Crime Command continues its probe under Detective Chief Inspector Richard Vandenbergh.
“August 24 should have been Salem’s birthday, but instead, his family are suffering the pain and anguish of his loss. We need to understand the chain of events that led to this young man’s death, and for that, we need the public’s help,” said DCI Vandenbergh.
“The incident took place on a busy street in the early evening. Many have spoken to police, but we urge anyone with video or dash cam footage to come forward. You will be fully supported.”
Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting CAD 5998/20Aug. The hunt for justice continues.
