Community on Edge as Knife Crime Spirals

Locals say fear is gripping the area after the twin stabbings.

“It’s getting worse lately. You can see gangs dealing drugs. Night time is too much,” said neighbours Isabel and Tony. “I have a 20 year old daughter and I’m always scared when she says, ‘Mum, I’m going to meet my friend.’”

The man who died has not been named, but friends say his family is “broken” by the tragic loss.

No arrests have been made in any of these chilling attacks. Lewisham Borough Commander Trevor Lawry said:

“Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of this young man who have lost someone they love in such a tragic way. A dedicated homicide team is working hard to piece together what happened this morning.”
