Man Shot in Handsworth – Police Launch Full Investigation
A man in his 20s is in hospital after being shot in the leg during a shocking early morning incident on Heathfield Road, Handsworth, on Monday, May 27, 2025.
West Midlands Police were called at around 2:30 AM after ambulance crews found the victim with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to hospital, where his injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
A second man who was at the scene escaped injury.

“We are investigating after a man was injured following shots fired at two men in Heathfield Road, Handsworth, in the early hours of today (Monday).
Officers are conducting house-to-house enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage to find those responsible.
We understand these incidents cause concern. There will be increased police presence in the area to provide reassurance as the investigation continues.”
