Londoners were shaken on Sunday evening after a stabbing sparked a full emergency response near Harold Wood Park. Around 7pm, Matthew Close was swarmed with police, paramedics, and an air ambulance — with officers quickly setting up a crime scene cordon.
Eyewitnesses Describe Dramatic Scene
Locals reported seeing the air ambulance swoop in — landing right on Harold Wood Park — before it sped off to St Peter’s Hospital. One horrified witness spotted officers using a Taser to subdue a man near the flats, while another person was left injured.
Police and Ambulance Details
The Met confirmed a man in his 30s was stabbed and rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 49-year-old Havering man was arrested over the incident, facing multiple charges including grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.11pm today to reports of a stabbing on Matthew Close, Harold Wood. We treated two patients at the scene and took them to hospital.”
A Met Police spokesperson added: “Police were called to a report of a stabbing at 6.10pm. Enquiries are ongoing. We urge anyone with information to call 101 or contact via X @MetCC quoting CAD 5727/24Aug.”
