Pedestrian Suffers Life-Changing Injuries in Frightening Portsmouth Crash
Goldsmith Avenue Shut After Serious Collision
Chaos erupted near Fratton Way this morning as a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle close to a crossing. Hampshire Constabulary’s Roads Policing Unit swiftly shut Goldsmith Avenue after the crash left the victim with life-changing injuries.
Air Ambulance Called in For Critical Care
Paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service rushed to the scene shortly after 10am. Specialist medics from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance also arrived to provide life-saving treatment.
Victim Airlifted to Southampton Trauma Centre
The injured pedestrian was stabilised on site before being airlifted to Southampton Trauma Centre for urgent care. Hampshire Police have been contacted for comment as investigations continue.
