Hit-and-Run Horror in Lingfield: Driver Leaves Scene After Crash
Police are hunting witnesses after a serious collision in Lingfield where a car failed to stop. The crash involved a dark-coloured vehicle allegedly overtaking a Vauxhall Astra, causing the Astra to veer off the road and slam into a tree.
Crash on Felcourt Road
The smash happened between 11pm and 11.30pm on July 20, on Felcourt Road, about half a mile south of the East Grinstead Road junction. A third vehicle was also spotted heading towards the Astra and the dark car on the opposite carriageway at the time of the incident.
Victims Hospitalised
The Astra driver, a man in his 60s, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. His passenger, a woman in her 30s, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to hospital.

“We need the public’s help to identify the dark-coloured vehicle and the mystery third car seen on the other side of the road at the time,” said Sergeant John Clarke from Surrey and Sussex Roads Policing Unit. “If you saw anything or have dash-cam or CCTV footage, contact us immediately.”
