Boy Dies After Colliding with Bus on E-Scooter
A 12-year-old boy lost his life after crashing his e-scooter into a bus yesterday morning in Bordesley Green. Emergency services arrived at the scene, but he was pronounced dead shortly after. The heartbreaking incident has shaken the local community.
E-Scooter Company Voi Steps In
Rental firm Voi confirmed it is cooperating fully with West Midlands Police following the fatal accident. A spokesman said, “Our thoughts are first and foremost with the deceased’s family and friends. The news of this tragic accident has deeply shocked us.”
Voi added they are providing police with all the necessary information but declined to comment further on the specific circumstances of the crash.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Sergeant Dean Caswell of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said, “Our thoughts are with Mustafa’s family, who are being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.”
He urged anyone who was on the bus, witnessed the collision, or has dashcam footage to come forward. “We are continuing to speak with witnesses as part of our ongoing investigation,” Caswell added.

A spokesperson for Birmingham City Council expressed sympathy for the boy’s family and friends. They said, “During this difficult time, our thoughts are with the boy’s family and friends. We are unable to comment further while police are investigating the circumstances of the collision.”
