Woman Dies in Horror Rye Hill Crash Involving Four Cars

Tragedy struck just after 5pm on Sunday, 18 September 2022, when four vehicles collided at Rye Hill. The crash involved a blue Mazda MX5, silver Ford C-Max, white Suzuki Ignis, and blue Honda Civic.

Sadly, a 62-year-old woman from Weymouth, passenger in the Suzuki Ignis, died at the scene. Her family have been informed.

Two Others Seriously Injured

A 49-year-old man from Poole and a 37-year-old woman from Yeovil suffered serious injuries. One was airlifted to hospital for emergency treatment.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those involved at this difficult time,” said Police Sgt Mike Gatfield of Dorset’s traffic unit.

“We are conducting a thorough investigation to find out exactly what happened. Anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam footage is urged to contact Dorset Police.”

“The road was closed for hours as experts combed the scene. We thank the public for their patience during the closure.”
