Man Rescued After Falling From Window in Southampton
Emergency services scrambled to Onslow Road, Southampton, just after 11am today following a shocking fall. A man plummeted from a window and was seriously injured, prompting a dramatic rescue operation.
Fire Crews Launch High-Stakes Rescue
Two fire crews from St Mary’s Fire Station swooped in, using an aerial ladder to reach the injured man. Firefighters removed a grating near Eve Hairdressers to aid the recovery. The road was shut in both directions as police worked with firefighters to safely extend the ladder boom.
Man Stabilised and Rushed to Hospital
The victim was carefully immobilised on a spinal board at the scene. A rapid response paramedic provided urgent treatment before he was whisked away by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “We dispatched one fire appliance and an aerial ladder from St Mary’s to support South Central Ambulance Service in this rescue.”
