World War Two Bomb Halts Activity at Dagenham Cement Terminal

Emergency services have shut down the CEMEX Dagenham Cement and Ash Terminal tonight after workers discovered a suspected unexploded World War Two bomb on site.

The incident unfolded around 6pm on Monday, sparking a swift evacuation of the surrounding area. Police quickly cordoned off the terminal, ensuring public safety.

Bomb Squad and Firefighters on Scene

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts have been called in to assess and neutralise the device if necessary. Firefighters from the local brigade have joined the effort, spotted near the junction of Hayland Street and Choats Road in Dagenham.

“Cordons are in place and the item will be assessed,” officers at the scene confirmed.
