Kesgrave Shooting Shocks School and Community

Police scrambled to Kesgrave this morning after reports of a shooting in Grange Farm just after 8.40am on Monday, 7 September.

Year 11 Pupil Involved, School on High Alert

The headteacher at Kesgrave High School confirmed a Year 11 student was involved in the incident while on their way to school. In a brief statement, she said:

“We have been made aware by the police of a serious incident involving one of our Year 11 students on their way to school. Students inside the school are safe, and we are managing the situation closely with the police.”

Students remain inside the school premises and will be kept under close watch as officers patrol the area throughout the day.

Road Closures and Public Safety Measures

  • Friends Walk and Through Jollys are fully closed.
  • Partial closure on Ropes Drive.
  • Public urged to avoid these areas to help police investigations.

The school expects to release students as normal at 3.20pm in coordination with police safety advice.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Suffolk Police on 101 quoting reference CAD 58 of 7 September.
