Portsmouth Stabbing Rapper Fabian Silva Jailed for 9 Years

Fabian Silva, from Sedgley Close, was locked up at Portsmouth Crown Court yesterday (Monday 13 December). Silva was found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent and carrying a knife in public after a trial in October.

Stabbing Horror in Broad Daylight

The court heard Silva attacked a 19-year-old man in Slindon Street on April 30 this year. Police scrambled to the scene around 5.30pm after reports of a stabbing. The victim was found with a deep wound to his right arm and rushed to Southampton General Hospital.

He was placed in an induced coma and had surgery. Luckily, he eventually pulled through.

Silva Denies Charges but Jury Sees Otherwise

Despite Silva’s denial, the jury convicted him after a tough investigation. He was sentenced to eight years behind bars plus an extra year extension. Another 19-year-old man was also charged but found not guilty on both counts.

Police Warn Against Knife Crime

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Burton said: “This was a senseless and brazen attack in broad daylight in a busy part of the city centre. The victim is very lucky to be alive. This could have ended far worse.”

“Today’s sentence is the result of a thorough investigation. We want to reassure the community that violent crime like this will be punished, and we will bring offenders to justice.”

“Knife crime shatters families and communities. We urge anyone carrying a blade out of fear to speak up—whether that’s to police, a teacher, youth worker, charity, or Crimestoppers. We want to break the cycle of violence and protect the young people affected.”
