Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Dymchurch Stabbing
A 29-year-old has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing on Dymchurch’s High Street.
Early Morning Stabbing Shocks Dymchurch
Just before 1am on Wednesday 12 January 2022, police were called to reports of a man with stab wounds sitting in a car on High Street. The victim, a man in his 20s, was rushed to hospital and remains in stable condition.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Police swiftly arrested Abdul Malik, 29, from High Street, Dymchurch. The two men are believed to know each other. On Friday 14 January, following Crown Prosecution Service approval, Malik was charged with attempted murder.
He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 15 January and was remanded to Maidstone Crown Court for a hearing on Monday 17 January.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives are urging anyone who saw or heard the attack near the junction of High Street and Orgarswick Avenue to come forward.
