Maya Chappell tragically died in hospital on September 30, just two days after being found in critical condition at a home in Shotton Colliery.
Man Charged With Murder
Michael Daymond, 26, from Shotton Colliery, has been charged with her murder. He appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody. He is due back at Teesside Crown Court on October 10.
Investigation Ongoing
Durham Police also arrested a 23-year-old woman in connection with the case. However, she has since been released as inquiries continue.
