Motorbike smash in Loughton leaves passengers in hospital after terrifying crash

Speeding bike hits parked car

Police rushed to Deepdene Road, Loughton on Friday 10 June 2022 after a speeding motorcycle crashed into a parked, unattended Mercedes GLC. CCTV footage showed the bike hurtling down the road, with neither the rider nor his female passenger wearing helmets or protective gear.

Passenger flung across the street

The woman was literally catapulted into the air, landing hard on another parked vehicle – a Hyundai – leaving the car badly damaged.

Serious injuries and police probe

Emergency crews, including the air ambulance (HEMS), treated both riders at the scene before rushing them to hospital. Both remain in serious condition. Karl Hurcombe, 43, of Fennells, Harlow, was slapped with a licence endorsement after appearing at chelmsford/" title="Chelmsford" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court, but faced no further penalty.
