Lorry Crashes Into Minibus on M25 – Four Dead, One Seriously Injured
Tragic Crash at Waltham Abbey
Police rushed to the scene near Waltham Abbey, between Junctions 27 and 26, just after 6.15pm on 23 August 2021. A lorry smashed into a minibus in a horrific collision.
Fatalities and Injuries
Three victims were pronounced dead instantly: 31-year-old Abigael Muamba from Edmonton Green, 60-year-old Dexter Augustus from Waltham Forest, and 59-year-old Jennifer Smith from Stratford. Lisa Gardiner, 44, from Walthamstow, later succumbed to her injuries.
Lorry Driver Faces Court
Ethan Burdett, 66, of Ipswich Haven Marina, has been summoned to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on 17 May. He faces four counts of causing death by dangerous driving and four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
