Shocking Abuse Caught on Camera Before Teen’s Death
Agnieszka Kalinowski and her partner Andrzej Latoszewski deny murdering Sebastian Kalinowski in August 2021. But chilling footage shown at Leeds Crown Court reveals a harrowing story of abuse just weeks before the teen died.
Disturbing Footage Shows Brutal Attacks
The video, dated July 30, 2021, captures Mr Latoszewski violently dragging Sebastian by the shirt around their Huddersfield home. He then pins the boy’s arms and repeatedly knees him in the chest and stomach. The abuse pauses briefly while Latoszewski wipes sweat from his face and arms before resuming the attacks.
In a haunting contrast, Sebastian can be seen gasping for breath in a corner, while Mr Latoszewski calmly strokes a cat and Agnieszka Kalinowski eats toast, watching TV as the violence unfolds.
Cameras Used to Control and Monitor Sebastian
Prosecutor Jason Pitter QC revealed that cameras installed in the house were used to “monitor and exert control over Sebastian remotely.” The footage captured the boy’s final school holiday days. Sebastian spent most of his time isolated in his room, staring at a wall, only allowed out to eat, do chores, or exercise under supervision.
More video evidence showed both Kalinowski and Latoszewski hitting Sebastian while forcing him to do sit-ups and push-ups over the following two days. Later clips show him being whipped with an extension cable.
Tragic End and Ongoing Trial
On August 13, Sebastian was found unconscious in the bath and later died in hospital. The prosecution says his death was caused by untreated rib fractures.
Mr Latoszewski has admitted to manslaughter, but the trial continues as the court examines the full extent of the abuse and the role of both defendants.
