Reality TV Star Stephen Bear Found Guilty of Sharing Private Sex Tape
Stephen Bear, the 2016 Celebrity Big Brother winner, has been slammed by a court for sharing a private sex video without consent. The 32-year-old from Loughton, Essex, was found guilty after a lurid CCTV clip of him and fellow TV personality Georgia Harrison was posted on OnlyFans – and sold for cash.
Jury Hands Down Guilty Verdict on All Counts
Bear faced charges of voyeurism and two counts of disclosing private sexual photos and films with intent to cause distress. He denied all allegations but was convicted on every count. The jury gave unanimous guilty verdicts on both counts of sharing private images, and a majority 10-2 verdict on voyeurism.
Secret CCTV Footage Sparks Outrage
The damning CCTV footage, filmed in Bear’s garden in August 2020, showed Bear and Georgia Harrison, known from The Only Way Is Essex and Love Island. Harrison, 27, insists she had no clue they were being filmed. Prosecutor Jacqueline Carey KC revealed that after Bear showed Harrison the footage, she told him explicitly never to share it.
“I made it clear how upset I would be if he did,” Harrison stated.
Video Shared Without Consent, Circulated Online
Despite her warnings, Harrison saw Bear send the video via WhatsApp and later discovered it was circulating online. Prosecutors say Bear either uploaded the clip himself or had it posted on OnlyFans, earning money from it. Bear claims he deleted the video in August 2020 and didn’t share it further.
Georgia Harrison Speaks Out on ‘Hellish’ Ordeal
Harrison waived her right to anonymity and spoke candidly about the aftermath. “The last two years have been absolutely hell,” she said. “Bear’s behaviour was completely unacceptable, and those who commit such crimes should and will be prosecuted.”
She added an empowering message for victims:
“I hope my standing up gives others the courage to seek justice and shows them they have nothing to be ashamed of. I’ve felt ashamed, hurt, violated, and even broken at times, but now I feel empowered and grateful for the support I’ve received.”
Bear has been released on bail and will return to court for sentencing after a report on him is prepared, due January 31.
