Man Arrested After Threats at Cliftonville

Kent Police rushed to Palm Bay Avenue, Cliftonville just after 11.30am on Thursday 29 February 2024. They responded to reports of a man making threats in the area.

Officers Threatened and Assaulted

Police officers who arrived on scene at the Grand Burstin Hotel faced threats and were assaulted. The man involved was quickly arrested.

Serious Charges Laid

Raimonds Mickevics, 39, from Sweyn Road, now faces multiple charges. These include:

  • Malicious communications offence
  • Threatening to commit criminal damage
  • Using threatening or abusive words or behaviour

Next Court Date Set

Mickevics appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Friday 1 March. He was granted bail and must return to court on Friday 26 April.
