A 26-year-old woman was shot dead outside a busy pub in Wallasey in a shocking late-night attack. The victim, who was with her sister and friends at The Lighthouse, was hit in the head by a gunman who also fired at four men.
Chaos at The Lighthouse: Gunman Opens Fire
The shooting happened just before midnight on Saturday, as the pub was packed with young revellers. The gunman unleashed several shots at the entrance before fleeing in a dark Mercedes, Merseyside Police said.
Victims Suffer Multiple Gunshot Wounds
- The 26-year-old woman was rushed to Arrowe Park Hospital but was pronounced dead.
- A 28-year-old man from Beechwood is in critical condition after being shot in the body.
- Other victims include a 22-year-old man with leg injuries, a 24-year-old with a hand injury, and a 33-year-old with a wrist injury.
Thankfully, none of the men’s wounds are life-threatening. Police believe the woman was not the intended target.
Police Launch Manhunt for Cold-Blooded Killer
Detective Superintendent Sue Coombs said: “No family should have to be faced with this ordeal at any time but at Christmas, which should be a time of peace and celebration, it makes it so much harder to bear.”
She described the shooting as “callous and cold-blooded” and promised: “We will not rest until we find the people responsible.”
