Police launched a full investigation after a woman reported being raped on Turner Road just before 1am on Sunday, 20 September.
Early Arrests Spark Action
On the afternoon of the same day, four boys aged between 16 and 18 were arrested on suspicion of rape. A sixth suspect, a 17-year-old, was picked up on Monday, 21 September. All six have since been released without charge and will face no further action.
More Arrests Made as Probe Continues
Two more people were arrested on Wednesday, 30 September. A 17-year-old boy from Portsmouth was arrested on suspicion of rape and has been bailed until 28 October.
First Charge Filed
The investigation took a serious turn when 18-year-old Abdelarahman Saleh Adam, from Wood Green, London, was charged with rape. He appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on Friday, 2 October, and has been remanded in custody pending further proceedings.
