£20,000 Stash and High-Value Watches Seized in Major Drug Bust
Kent and Essex’s Serious Crime Directorate smashed a major drug ring on Wednesday 29 September 2021. Police executed five search warrants across Maidstone and Dover, leading to multiple arrests and the seizure of a fortune in cash and luxury watches.
Six Arrested, Including Four Prisoners
Officers arrested six suspects on suspicion of drug offences. Four serving inmates from HMP Elmley and HMP Rochester, aged between 31 and 52, were also arrested for allegedly offering to supply cocaine. All four remain behind bars as the probe continues.
£20,000 Found Hidden in Wardrobe
During one raid, PD Clay uncovered a hidden stash of around £20,000 stuffed behind blankets in a wardrobe. High-value watches were seized at the same location, hinting at a lucrative drug operation.
Key Figures Charged
- Aaron Elcombe, 44, of Penenden Heath, and Gray Elcombe, 52, of Cambridgeshire, were charged with conspiring to supply Class A and B drugs.
- Gray Elcombe also faces money laundering charges.
- Both are set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 1 October 2021.
Meanwhile, a 47-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man from Maidstone, along with a 51-year-old man from Dover, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis. They were released pending further investigation, along with a 56-year-old Maidstone man suspected of money laundering.
