Man Injured in Late-Night Newmarket Assault
Police are hunting witnesses after a violent incident at a Newmarket home left a man injured. The drama unfolded just before 1am on Thursday, 25 January, at a property on Nat Flatman Street.
Stabbing and Head Injury Reported
Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene following reports of an assault. A man and a woman were taken to hospital by ambulance. The man suffered a leg stabbing and a head injury. Thankfully, sources say his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing. The woman escaped uninjured.
Witnesses Sought After Group Seen Fleeing
Police want anyone who saw a group of men leaving the Nat Flatman Street property and heading towards All Saints Road to come forward. One of the men in the group may also have been hurt.
A police cordon remains in place as investigations continue.
Detective Inspector Appeals to Public
“We understand this incident will cause concern to residents,” said Detective Inspector Stuart Dolan-Allen of West CID. “Additional reassurance patrols are underway. We urge anyone with information, however small, to contact Suffolk Police.”
