Man Attacked and Car Stolen in Broad Daylight

A motorist was left with head and facial injuries after a violent incident outside an Asda store on Crossways Boulevard, Thursday evening, 24 November 2022.

Between 5pm and 5.20pm, the victim sat inside an Audi A3 when a man suddenly smashed the window. The attacker then allegedly struck the victim with a weapon before stealing the Audi and speeding off.

Police Track Down Suspect Near M25

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the victim needed hospital treatment but was later discharged. Fast police work tracked the stolen Audi to near junction 30 of the M25.

By 6pm, officers arrested a 27-year-old man with no fixed address. He was charged with robbery and appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 26 November. The suspect remains in custody ahead of a Maidstone Crown Court hearing on 3 January.

Dashcam Footage Could Crack Case

Police are calling on drivers who were in the car park around the attack time to check their dashcams. They’re especially keen on footage showing a man wearing a high visibility top.
