A daft driver from Sandown crashed his Mini into a wall near Apse Heath in the early hours of Sunday – and got nicked for drink-driving.
Mini Muppet Slams Wall After Boozy Spin
Just after 1am, emergency crews raced to the Apse Heath roundabout where Callum Downer had careered his car straight into a wall. Luckily, no one was hurt, but Downer failed a roadside breath test at the scene.
Drink-Drive Blunder Lands Him in Hot Water
Officers arrested Downer and took him to Newport Police Station for an evidential breath test. He’s been charged with drink-driving and slapped with bail. He must answer to the Islands Magistrates next week.
