Essex Police Quiz Woman Over Racial Hatred Post

Essex Police have stepped in following a complaint about an alleged social media post inciting racial hatred. Officers visited a woman’s home in Essex and invited her for a voluntary interview.

Police Acted on Public Tip-Off

The force moved quickly after a member of the public flagged the possible offence. Essex Police stressed the visit was professional and polite.

“We police without fear or favour and respond to alleged offences reported by the public. Everyone involved was polite and professional throughout the brief conversation.”

Details were kept under wraps initially, following legal rules under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE). This protects individuals’ rights, including access to legal advice.

Investigation Ongoing, No Charges Yet

Essex Police are working closely with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) as the probe continues. No charges have been filed at this stage, the force confirmed.

Slamming False Media Reports

The force hit back at what it calls “a large amount of false reporting” surrounding the case. Complaints have been lodged with the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) over inaccurate media coverage.

Keeping Essex Safe

Despite the drama, Essex Police highlighted major crime reductions recently.

“There were over 9,000 fewer reported offences in the last year and 20,000 fewer than five years ago. Our officers and staff, some of whom are military veterans, work tirelessly 24/7 to keep the public safe.”

Essex Police reaffirmed their commitment to fair, unbiased policing as the investigation continues.
