Fifth Arrest Made in Shocking Stanley Murder

Man Nabbed in Northern Ireland

Sean Reay, 29, from Stanley, was arrested in Northern Ireland on April 11 by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI). Acting on a Durham Constabulary warrant, officers hauled Reay back to Durham the next day. He’s now charged with murder and is set to appear at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on April 14.

Durham Police confirm no more suspects are currently being hunted in connection with the case.

  • Michaela Hetherington faces charges of perverting the course of justice and waits for a bail hearing at Durham Crown Court.
