A second young victim has tragically died following a shocking road traffic collision at a Wimbledon school on Thursday.
Eight-year-old Nuria Sajjad has been confirmed dead, just days after the crash devastated the community.

Nuria’s family released a moving statement mourning their daughter’s loss:
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Nuria on Sunday, 9 July 2023. Nuria was the light of our lives. She embodied joy, kindness and generosity and she was loved by all around her.
“We would like to thank the efforts of the emergency services, all the extraordinary staff at St George’s Hospital, the parents of Nuria’s class fellows and staff of the Study Prep for all they have done to ease Nuria’s journey.

Crash Details: Car Smashes into Wimbledon Prep School
Police were called to The Study Prep School in Camp Road, SW19, at 9.45am on 6 July after a car crashed through a fence and collided with a building.
A massive emergency response saw 35 police vehicles rush to the scene. Officers and paramedics battled to save multiple victims.
Selena Lau: First Child Confirmed Dead
On the day of the crash, 8-year-old Selena Lau was confirmed dead from her injuries.
Selena’s family said:
“Selena was an intelligent and cheeky girl adored and loved by everyone. The family wishes their privacy to be respected at this sad time.”
Ongoing Hospitalisations and Investigation
- A woman in her 40s remains in serious condition in hospital.
- Several others, including a 7-month-old baby, were hurt but have non-life-threatening injuries.
- The driver, a 46-year-old Wimbledon woman, was arrested at the scene for causing death by dangerous driving.
- She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
- Met Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is leading the ongoing probe.
