Brutal Gang Stabbing: Innocent Man Murdered in Canning Town
Four Gang Members Guilty of Murder at Old Bailey
Mohammad Jalloh, 19, of Wapping; Vagnei Colubali, 23, of Enfield; David Ture, 19, of Camden; and a 17-year-old from Telford were found guilty at the Old Bailey after a six-week trial ended on 11 August.
They face sentencing on 17 September for the savage murder of a young man stabbed nine times in broad daylight in East London.
Stabbing Caught on CCTV as Victim Calls Girlfriend
David was attacked while walking down Freemasons Road, E16, talking on the phone to his girlfriend. CCTV shows the suspects stopping their stolen car—using false plates—and launching the brutal assault. David managed to stagger home but collapsed outside. Despite emergency surgery on the street, he died soon after reaching hospital.
Gang Hunting Rivals in ‘Enemy Territory’
The court heard the four—all linked to gangs—armed with knives, set out from a Stratford hotel on 26 August 2020. They drove into Canning Town to find a ‘rival’ gang member. Less than an hour before David’s murder, CCTV captured them chasing another man wielding knives, who narrowly escaped.
Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith said: “David was a young man with ambitions to make something of himself but his life was cruelly snatched away at just 24. He was not involved in gangs nor mistaken for anyone else. His only crime was living in the wrong part of Newham.”
