A 59-year-old man from Hove has been jailed for sexually assaulting 11 women in public. Fattah Derrahi, a British national living on Farm Road, preyed on women over four years, often targeting them while they were out exercising.
How Derrahi Picked His Victims
Between September 2021 and October 2025, Derrahi stalked women along the Hove seafront, especially near the Lawns. He’d approach them with compliments about their “energy” before coaxing them into stretches, dances, or breathing exercises. That’s when he struck, sexually assaulting his victims in broad daylight.
Arrest and Guilty Plea
Derrahi was arrested in November 2025 and charged with 11 counts of sexual assault. At Lewes Crown Court on 15 December, he admitted nine charges and confessed to two more offences from 2021 during the same hearing.
Six Years Locked Up
On Friday 27 March, Derrahi was sentenced to six years behind bars. The court’s verdict puts an end to his terrifying spree of attacks on women in Hove’s public spaces.
