CCTV Released After Paramedic Attacked in Salisbury
Police have issued a CCTV image of a man wanted in connection with an assault on an emergency worker in Salisbury.
At 5pm on Monday, August 24, a paramedic was treating a patient when a man approached, shoved him, and spat in his face.
Suspect Described – Police Urge Public to Come Forward
The attacker was told to leave the scene before police were called. He fled towards Bowes Court.
The suspect is described as:
- White male
- 6ft 2in tall
- Overweight
- Bald
- Wearing a red T-shirt, tracksuit bottoms, and trainers
“It is a particularly repulsive act to spit at anyone, let alone an emergency worker during a pandemic,” said PC Angela Holden.
“Paramedics should never have to endure this abuse while saving lives and risking serious health consequences in the context of Covid-19. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
Emergency Services Condemn Attack
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said:
“We condemn this unacceptable violence towards our staff. They face aggression daily while trying to save lives, impacting them and their families deeply.
“Our teams put themselves at risk for the public’s safety. We support all measures to protect them and urge respect for emergency workers.”
