Machete Madness in New Southgate: Armed Police Tackle Violent Rampage

Armed officers and emergency crews stormed a New Southgate property just before midnight on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Reports flooded in of a man unleashing a brutal rampage with a machete, sparking chaos in the North London neighbourhood.

Suspect Tasered, Multiple Victims Treated

The Metropolitan Police moved fast, detaining the suspect with a Taser. The scene was tense as seven ambulances and specialist teams from the London Ambulance Service converged to treat multiple casualties. The exact number of injured remains unclear, but the victims’ injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

“It was terrifying. We heard shouting and saw police rushing into the area,” one witness revealed.

Investigation Underway, Motive Unknown

The 33-year-old suspect from Barnet remains in custody, charged with wounding with intent. Police have not released details on motive or identity beyond this. Residents are urged to avoid the area as the cordon remains in place. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police immediately.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 23:38 to reports of a stabbing in Brunswick Crescent, N11. We dispatched multiple specialist teams and treated four patients before transporting three to hospital.”

A Met Police spokesperson added: “Officers arrived swiftly following reports of multiple assaults. Six victims, including two men in their 30s and three women in their 40s, were treated at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries. One suspect was arrested and remains in custody.”
