Man Nabbed in Uckfield for Skip Theft and Weapon Possession
A man was arrested last week in Uckfield’s Regency Close after police responded to reports of suspicious behaviour.
Quick Police Response Leads to Arrest
Sussex Police acted fast after witnesses spotted a man acting dodgy and removing items from a skip. Officers arrived on the scene, detained him, and found stolen goods on him.
Theft and Offensive Weapon Charges
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of an offensive weapon. The stolen items were recovered at the scene.
Case Closed with Community Resolution
The police dealt with the offence through a community resolution, which means the offender admitted guilt and agreed to make amends without formal charges.
“We take all reports of suspicious activity seriously. We’re pleased this incident was resolved swiftly and appropriately. Officers recovered the stolen property, and no further action is required at this stage,” a police spokesperson said.
Residents Urged to Stay Vigilant
Local residents are urged to keep reporting any unusual or suspicious behaviour to help keep the community safe.
